Tray Tray unfortunately lost his life at the end of August. Today’s “Gangsta Bitch” and his previous release “Eastsiders” ft. G Herbo were not intended to be a posthumous release. His untimely passing is commemorated by the rollout of his debut project, coming soon. All proceeds from Tray Tray’s upcoming posthumous release will go to his children and family.
“Gangsta Bitch” and “Eastsiders” follows Tray Tray’s last song and accompanying video for “What They On.” Prior to his tragic passing, the Windy City native was ready to take his career a step further: “I can switch it up. I’m versatile, very versatile. So I can make a radio song and make a song for the trenches all in one track. I’ve been around the world already—and I actually been through a lot of the things I rap about.”
With the release of Tray Tray’s recent singles and forthcoming project, he was gearing up to reclaim his spot in rap. “It’s me,” he said of his new album. “In a real way, a raw way, an authentic way. No fake skits, no gimmicks, no internet clout chasing. None of that. Just me.”

MORE ON TRAY TRAY:
Tray Tray didn’t consider pursuing music until after a series of unfortunate events, including the fatal shooting of his cousin in 2012 followed by multiple stints in jail. He was known on the streets and used his popularity to grow his audience, but it wasn’t until 2019 that he started to pursue a rap career earnestly.
As his numbers started to climb in 2014, Tray Tray met Future and later went on tour with the superstar rapper. It was a viral music video shoot in 2022 that really gave Tray Tray the push he needed. During a recording for the “Opp Music” visual, rivals opened fire on the video shoot. The comments from fans on the video motivated him and underscored the demand for his music.
Now prepping the release of his debut project, which he describes as the “intro” to who he is, Tray Tray continues to show his versatility as an artist. He, in his own words, can “make a radio song and make a song for the trenches all in one track.” He has many stories to tell and his upcoming project is just the beginning of his upward ascent.
