ABOUT LUH KEL:
Luh Kel creates music that carries a true-to-life feel. He’s an innovative, genre-bending artist who’s exploded out of St. Louis, Missouri thanks to his emotive writing style. At 19-years-old, he’s driven by a methodical approach to storytelling that serenades the ear of listeners.
When it comes to describing his sound, the fresh-faced wunderkind can only think of one word: unique. “My sound is one of a kind,” he explains. “I’m a real R&B singer with a certain type of edge that would make you think I’m a rapper.” This mindset made Kel an early favorite to executives like Jonny Shipes, who he signed his first deal with under the Cinematic Music Group imprint.
During his time with the label, Kel released his internet-breaking single “Wrong” (200M+ streams), which eventually became a key record in his career, adding RIAA platinum-certified status to his list of achievements. With the arrival of two gold-selling records ( “Pull up” and “Brb”) in the same year, Kel catapulted into an elevated musical stratosphere.
In 2020, Kel released his critically-acclaimed EP, L.O.V.E., which garnered praise from media outlets like Billboard, FLAUNT, and DJ Booth – the latter describing his sophomore project as, “a treat and a picture of contemporary R&B’s bright future.” Now, after emerging as a remarkable new talent in the music space, Kel is focused on bringing his art to life on the world stage.
Through a shared listening experience, cultivated through an organic relationship, Kel has developed a loyal fanbase because of his continuous grind. He’s young in age but his star power is undeniable. Since his inception, he’s collaborated with the likes of PnB Rock, Lil Tjay, Queen Naija, and Trippie Redd, growing in popularity with each melodic riff.
As we see him today, Kel is hard at work curating his future. He’s decided to go independent and fully commit to bringing his boundary-pushing sound to the forefront of music, marking a turning point in his constant evolution as an artist with the launch of his own label, Different Vibes Only. “Art is like drawing a picture and music is the same way,” he says, comparing his creative process to painting. “My art is a real feeling.”
