Doja Cat – Paint The Town Red [BTS]

Doja Cat – The Making of ‘Paint The Town Red’ (Vevo Footnotes)

The second video from Doja’s fourth album ‘Scarlet,’ “Paint The Town Red” is a real trip. From the eerie references to classic scary TV shows to the surreal creature “Beast” that the singer painted herself, there’s plenty of deeply artistic moves going down. As she reveals in our exclusive Footnotes interview, the vid’s concept was bringing her art work to life. Her bloody character Scarlet was initially introduced in the “Attention” video. Director Nina McNeely brought a wonderfully macabre vibe to the visuals, and the seductive way Doja samples Dionne Warwick’s 1960s gem “Walk On By” is enchanting.
